Sinopsis: Durante la Guerra de Corea (1950-1953), un teniente norteamericano curtido en cien batallas intenta reunir a los supervivientes de su batallón y llevarlos al cuartel general. Por otra parte, un hostil y poco respetuoso sargento de otra compañía quiere conducir a su coronel, agotado por el combate, a un sitio seguro.
