Sinopsis: Jack Torrance se traslada junto a su mujer Wendy y su hijo Danny al opulento y solitario hotel Overlook, ubicado en las montañas de Colorado, para encargarse de su mantenimiento durante el invierno (época en la que dicho local queda cerrado y vacío) mientras escribe su próxima novela. No obstante, la psique de Jack comenzará a degenerar al mismo tiempo que en el hotel suceden cosas extrañas.
