ORIGIN: Charles Lee Ray, a criminal nicknamed the "Lakeshore Strangler," sneaks into a toy store while trying to escape a police officer who had shot him. There, thanks to his knowledge of voodoo, Charles transfers his soul into a doll using the powers of Damballa before dying. In the 2019 reboot, his origin stems from the improper programming of a toy during its manufacture.

DESCRIPTION: A 0.5-meter-tall plastic doll from the popular "Good Guy" toy line with reddish hair, freckles, large blue eyes, denim overalls over a striped sweater, red and white shoes, and several random phrases. After being possessed by the soul of Charles Lee Ray, he exhibits a sadistic and foul-mouthed personality. In the 2019 reboot, Chucky is a defective specimen of the "Buddi" dolls (robots capable of speaking and manipulating various technological devices) who doesn't know the difference between good and evil.
