Sinopsis: Doc tiene el coche-máquina del tiempo averiado, y está prisionero en la época del salvaje oeste. Por su parte, Marty McFly está en 1955 y acaba de encontrar una carta escrita por Doc en 1885. En ella, Doc le pide que arregle el coche, pero que no vaya a rescatarlo pues se encuentra muy bien en el pasado. Sin embargo el muchacho irá en su búsqueda cuando descubre una vieja tumba en la que lee que su amigo murió en 1885.
