Sinopsis: El capitán Call acaba de enterrar a Gus en Lonesome Dove y hace planes para regresar a su rancho en Montana. Antes descubre una manada de potros salvajes y decide llevarlos al norte con la ayuda de Isom y Gedeón Walker. Para ello Gedeón contrata a un grupo de mejicanos que lidera la guapa y arrogante Agustina Vega, la hija que Gus nunca conoció. Mientras tanto, en Montana, Newt, el joven hijo de Woodrow, se mete en problemas y el poderoso ranchero Donegan consigue salvarle de la horca.
