Sinopsis: Biopic de la actriz Gertrude Lawrence (Julie Andrews), una corista inglesa convertida en diva mundial que interpretó números y obras de Nöel Coward, Cole Porter y Gershwin, entre otros grandes talentos del teatro y el musical. El legendario e ingenioso dramaturgo Nöel Coward (Daniel Massey) relata su vida mientras Gertrude busca inútilmente un pretendiente cuya adoración por ella se equipare a la que recibe en escena.
